Renegades have booked their spot at the offline qualifier for ESL One Cologne after topping the Upper Bracket at the Asian Minor Championship.

The double-elimination bracket of the Asian Minor, taking place at the Nexon eSports Arena, in Seoul, began with two regional clashes as TyLoo locked horns with VG.CyberZen, while Renegades were pitted against Immunity.

The Chinese duel ended up going the way of TyLoo, who beat their domestic rivals in a three-map game despite a fantastic display from veteran Bin "⁠Savage⁠" Liu, who picked up 75 frags across the series. In the other semi-final, it was Renegades who came out on top, and they only required two maps to fend off the threat of their Australian rivals.

Renegades will fight for a spot at the Major 

The Upper final began on Cobblestone, where Renegades claimed a 16-13 win as Aaron "⁠AZR⁠" Ward led the charge for his team with 30 frags. TyLoo then replied with an impressive 16-11 success on Mirage to level up the series. The final map, Cache, came down to the wire, with Renegades walking out with the win in the very last round after TyLoo had threatened to run away with the lead during the second half.

The PGL KeSPA Asia Minor will resume on Saturday morning with the first Lower Bracket match, featuring VG.CyberZen and Immunity, scheduled for 11:30 . The winner of that match will take on TyLoo three hours later for a spot in the grand final, which will take place on Sunday.
